The Truth About Having Business Partners

đź’° You cannot expect people to be the same as you

Boys,

One of the biggest problems with having business partners is that you expect too much from them

For example,

Let’s say you are super hard-working, super ambitious

And you’re in a 50-50 deal with someone, or 60-40, or 65-35,

These are all regular occurrences in business right

Because they’re still getting a big cut—let’s say it’s 35-40%

Or even if it’s 50-50 particularly

You expect them to do 50% of the work because they’re getting 50% of the money

And this is where the resentment comes in

Because It’s ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE (take it from me)

To get a 50-50 LEGITIMATE partnership.

I have a couple 50-50 partnerships myself but we don’t do 50/50 of the work

In some of them I do more work, and in some of them I do less work

And both parties know this deal, both parties know the situation right

So the point I’m trying to make is when you expect too much from people

That’s when things go wrong

So you need to get very very clear on their strengths, their weaknesses, and why you need them in business

Because if you decided to get in a 50-50 deal with someone—then you clearly want to be 50-50 with them

You clearly want to be partners with them

Like actually analyze why you need these people and ACTUALLY analyze why you’re working with them

And if you don’t need them and you don’t want to work with them

Or they’re bringing no real benefit or only 5% benefit, 7% benefit

Then have a talk with them

Try and sort out a deal

Maybe separate as partners

But NEVER SNAKE ANYONE IN BUSINESS

It will never do you any, any good long term

And recently,

I’ve been seeing this word on social media called “aura”

+1000 aura points

-1000 aura points blah blah blah right

And I feel like it’s true because if you snaked someone and you actually lie

It’s actually very hard to have the same aura as someone who’s always honest

Because in the back of your mind you have to think about what to hide

Or you have to think about lying

Think about protecting yourself from certain angles

So never snake someone.

But just confront someone genuinely and be like “Look bro,

We got into this 50-50 deal and you’re doing fuck all at the moment, like,

We need to have a chat about you doing more work—like if you’re not willing to do more work, then I can’t do 50-50 with someone who’s just not willing to do any more work”

Because you’re always going to be angry at them

If you’ve been working with them for 3-4 months

And they’ve never ever done as much as you, it’s not like randomly they’re gonna change and fix up

Maybe they’re gonna start doing a bit more

But if you’re super unhappy with what they’re doing

Then it’s never gonna work. You can’t force someone into being a different person

So I really encourage you to a) be very careful getting into 50-50 deals

And b), work with people who are reasonable

Because if you can’t work with people that are reasonable, then you can never ever talk the problem with them

Whereas if you work with people that are unreasonable, and WHEN, not if,

WHEN inevitably a problem comes up

It’s going to be very hard to have a conversation

Like I’ve had so many times in business where I’ve said something to someone so respectfully, so calmly, so nicely, so concisely, so everything

And they’ve still not understood and they’ve still not done it

It just shows you that some people, you cannot get them to do certain things and they just never will

They haven’t got the genetics

They haven’t got the mental faculty

They just don’t have the capabilities—I don’t know how to explain it in any other way

Everyone prioritizes different things in life

Some people would rather just play Call of Duty all day, some people would rather smoke weed

At the end of the day it doesn’t make them a bad person, it just means they’re different

That all it means—they’re different

It’s like someone being white and someone being black

Or someone being Arab, or being Chinese, or being Asian

There’s different height, different looks, different parents, different upbringings

Of course all these things are gonna make someone have a different personality

But yet, when it comes to personality and in relation to work, in relation to business,

Everyone thinks, oh everyone should be as ambitious as each other

When you start making $10k a month, you might wanna go harder and start making $50k a month

Where as another person, once they make $10k per month maybe they wanna start to chill more

Start fucking loads of girls and start having loads of fun

So do you see what I’m trying to say?

When YOU get to $10k per month, you wanna double, you wanna quadruple, and go 10 times harder

Whereas someone else who hits $10k/mo, they might say “Finally I can start traveling the world, stay in some nice hotels, go eat whatever I want, order whatever I want,

Talk to whatever girl I want because I want to make up for lost time when I was hustling and grinding”

Does that make sense?

SO THE POINT I’M TRYING TO MAKE IS THIS:

You cannot expect people to be the same as you.
